The purpose of the Scouts (BSA) is to provide boys and girls with an effective educational program designed to build character, to train them in the responsibilities of citizenship, and develop personal fitness. Through chartered organizations, Cub Scouting provides a year round, home centered program that has helped to strengthen families since 1930. Today, there are approximately 7.5 million registered scouts in the United States, and 28 million worldwide. The Cub Scouting program is for boys and girls from 5 years old (Kindergarten) to 11 years old (5th grade). The program focuses on preparing them to become better adults through activities based on nature, hobbies, games, camping, preparation for Scouts BSA, and above all, character.

As a parent, you want your son/daughter to grow up to be a person of worth; a self reliant, dependable, caring individual. The Scouting program has these same goals in mind for your son. Since 1910, Scouting has been weaving lifetime values into fun and educational activities designed to assist parents in strengthening character, developing good citizenship, and enhancing physical fitness in youth.
These values will help your son/daughter make good decisions throughout his lifetime and give them the confidence they need to become an adult leader of tomorrow. Scouting will provide your son/daughter with a positive peer group and a program that is fun and adventurous and help them to "be prepared" and "do their best" in their life to shape their own future.
