My name is Derrick Moore. I am currently the Scoutmaster for Troop 998. I have been an active part of this group for 2 years. Both of my boys are active scouts with Troop 998 and are trained Den Leaders for the pack. During this time I have been an active leader on many of our camping outings-including taking our troop to Camp Woodruff for summer camp this year (2018)
I have a background in scouting and leading scouts. I was a cub scout growing up in Michigan and as an adult leader I have also led Pack 097, (Michigan – Clinton River Council), for three years, while my brother was making his way through scouting.
I have many years of experience and have a strong passion for leadership, camping, fishing, hunting, shooting, outdoor survival skills and hiking, swell as team sports where I have both played and coached ice hockey, football, and soccer. I grew up all Michigan and outdoor activities were a very important part of my life. I hope to instill these values in our scouts.
Leadership is very important to me and teaching servant leadership to our scouts is my key focus.I want to encourage and train our scouts to be leaders so that they may succeed not only as a scout, but in their families, careers, and our community.
