To join Scouts BSA (not Cub Scouts) you must:
Be a young person who is 11 years old, or one who has completed the fifth grade, or earned the Arrow of Light Badge and are at least 10 years old but under 18 years old.
In February at our Blue and Gold event, you may cross to Scouts if:
1. You are 11 years old or older, even if you haven't earned the Arrow of Light.
2. You are 10 years old, you have been enrolled in our Pack for 6 months (enrolled by September), and you have earned the Arrow of light.
If you enroll in our Pack later than September, you will join the Webelos 1 Den until you do one of the following:
1. you have been active in the pack for 6 months and earned the Arrow of Light
2. you turn 11 years old
3. you finish 5th grade
After doing one of the above three events, you may cross over to Scouts (It is not necessary to earn the Arrow of Light).
If you want to earn the Arrow of Light Badge starting in 5th grade
Some of the Arrow of Light Badge requirements are earned in 4th grade in our Pack. You will need to make these up on your own. In particular, you will need to work on the following adventures:
Camper – Requirements #1, 2,3, 4, and 5. These involve going on a campout, setting up a tent, planning a campfire program, and tying a bowline. These can be accomplished on a family campout or by attending a Webelos Woods,Scout and Pal, or Winter camp events.
Scouting Adventure– Requirements #5a and 5b. Tying knots, whipping and fusing rope. These can also be done at the above mentioned camps or on your own.
Our pack strives to help you succeed in obtaining the Arrow of Light.
Please contact the Cubmaster if you need any help with the process.
